The LifeDX Influenza A/B-Ag Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the rapid, qualitative detection and differentiation of Influenza A and Influenza B viral antigens in oropharyngeal or nasopharyngeal swabs. This test provides a fast and reliable method for detecting influenza infections and is essential for managing patient care during flu seasons.

The test works on the principle of lateral flow immuno-chromatography to detect Influenza A and B antigens. When the sample and buffer are applied to the sample pad, the liquid migrates through the conjugate pad, which contains colloidal gold conjugated to monoclonal antibodies for both Influenza A and Influenza B. The antigens from the sample bind to these antibodies and form visible lines in the respective zones (A and B).

If the sample contains Influenza A or Influenza B antigens, a visible color line will form in the corresponding test zone (A or B). If no antigens are present, no color lines will appear. A control line (C) will always appear to indicate proper test functioning.

The test can be performed using either a nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swab sample.

1. Insert the swab into the posterior pharynx and tonsillar areas.
2. Rub the swab over both tonsillar pillars and the posterior oropharynx, avoiding contact with the tongue, teeth, and gums.

If the specimen is not tested immediately, it should be stored in a dry, sterile tube and sealed tightly. Store samples at 2-8°C for up to 8 hours or at -70°C for longer periods.
