LifeDX HIV Antibody Test is a qualitative immunochromatographic assay designed to detect total antibodies to Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV-1 and HIV-2), including group O, in human serum, plasma, or whole blood. This test is crucial for the early detection and diagnosis of HIV infections.

The test uses an immunochromatographic principle to detect HIV-1/HIV-2 antibodies in a sample. When the sample containing the antibodies and the buffer are added to the sample pad, the liquid mixture migrates to the conjugate pad, which contains latex nanoparticles embedded with HIV antigens. The HIV-1/HIV-2 antibodies from the sample bind to the conjugate and then to the immobilized HIV antigens in the test zone, forming a visible colored line.

Serum, plasma, and whole blood can be collected by venipuncture or fingerstick using a disposable lancet. Blood should be collected aseptically to avoid hemolysis. It is recommended to follow the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI GP42) procedure.
