The test detects antibodies to HCV through a lateral flow immunochromatographic process. When the sample and buffer are applied, the mixture migrates through the conjugate pad containing colloidal gold conjugated to HCV antigen. If HCV antibodies are present in the sample, they bind to the conjugate and form a visible color line in the test zone (T). If no antibodies are present, no line will appear in the test zone. A control line (C) confirms the proper performance of the test.
