The LifeDX HCV-Ab Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay designed for the rapid, qualitative detection of antibodies specific to the Hepatitis C virus (HCV) in human serum, plasma, or whole blood. This test is crucial for detecting the presence of antibodies to HCV, aiding in the early detection of Hepatitis C infection.

The test detects antibodies to HCV through a lateral flow immunochromatographic process. When the sample and buffer are applied, the mixture migrates through the conjugate pad containing colloidal gold conjugated to HCV antigen. If HCV antibodies are present in the sample, they bind to the conjugate and form a visible color line in the test zone (T). If no antibodies are present, no line will appear in the test zone. A control line (C) confirms the proper performance of the test.
