The test uses a lateral flow immuno-chromatographic method to detect the Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg). When the sample and buffer are applied, the liquid mixture migrates to the conjugate pad, which contains colloidal gold conjugated with monoclonal antibodies specific to HBsAg. The antigen in the sample binds to the conjugate and forms a visible color line in the test zone (T) if present. If HBsAg is absent, no color line forms.
A control line (C) is included to ensure proper test procedure and sample application.
