Technical Specifications
The test is based on the immunochromatographic “sandwich” principle. The plasma sample migrates along the strip and reacts with anti-D-dimer antibodies conjugated to colloidal gold. If D-dimer is present, immune complexes are captured in the Test zone (T), forming a colored line. The Control line (C) must always appear and confirms proper test performance.
- Timer / stopwatch
- Adjustable micropipette (recommended for plasma)
- Disposable pipette tips
- Appropriate specimen collection materials and PPE
- Collect whole blood aseptically into an appropriate tube (EDTA-K2/EDTA-K3 / sodium heparin / sodium citrate), avoiding hemolysis; prepare plasma as per laboratory procedure.
- If plasma is not analyzed within 6 hours, freeze at −20°C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles.
- Fingerstick collection may be performed using a disposable lancet; follow CLSI GP42 recommendations.
1. Bring all components to room temperature (20–25°C).
2. Remove the test cassette from the foil pouch and place it on a flat surface. Use within 4 hours after opening.
3. Label the cassette with the sample ID and record the same on the Result Recording Card.
4. Add 20 µL of plasma into the sample well (S).
5. Add 100 µL (3 drops) of buffer into the same well.
6. Wait 20 minutes and read the results.
