The LifeDX COVID-19 Antigen Test is an immunochromatographic assay designed for the rapid, qualitative detection of SARS-CoV-2 antigens from nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swab specimens. This test allows for the quick identification of the COVID-19 virus, aiding in the efficient management of infected patients.

The LifeDX COVID-19 Antigen Test uses a lateral flow immunochromatographic method. When the reactive sample and buffer are applied to the sample pad, the mixture moves toward the conjugate pad, which contains colloidal gold conjugated to monoclonal antibodies specific for SARS-CoV-2. The viral antigens in the sample bind to the conjugate, and this complex moves to the test zone (T), where it binds to the immobilized monoclonal antibodies, forming a visible color line.

If SARS-CoV-2 antigens are absent in the sample, no visible color line will appear in the test zone. A control line © will always appear to indicate the test is functioning correctly.

The test requires either a nasopharyngeal or oropharyngeal swab sample.

1. Insert the swab into the posterior pharynx and tonsillar areas.
2. Rub the swab over both tonsillar pillars and the posterior oropharynx, avoiding contact with the tongue, teeth, and gums.

Specimens should be tested immediately. If not tested right away, they can be stored in a sterile, sealed tube at 2-8°C for up to 8 hours, or at -70°C for longer periods.
